First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested a new DNA-based method (whole-genome methylation sequencing) to help doctors tell if lung nodules are cancerous or not. Researchers used samples taken during a bronchoscopy from 158 people with small lung nodules. The goal was to see if this genetic test works better than standard lab tests to guide treatment decisions.
