First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of MRI (called hyperpolarized 129Xe MRI) to see if it could safely and effectively show how well lungs are working after a double lung transplant. Researchers wanted to find early signs of chronic rejection without needing a biopsy. The study planned to include 15 adults, but was stopped early after enrolling only 6 participants.
