First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested a new type of MRI (called hyperpolarized 129Xe MRI) to see if it could detect early signs of lung rejection in people who had a double lung transplant. Researchers wanted to find out if this scan could show lung function and structure changes without needing a biopsy. The study planned to include 15 adults, but was stopped early after enrolling only 6 participants.
