Can a smaller lung cancer surgery save lives and preserve breathing?

NCT ID NCT07169903

Summary

This study aims to find out if a less extensive lung surgery (segmentectomy) is as effective as the standard, more extensive surgery (lobectomy) for treating a specific type of early-stage lung cancer. It will involve about 587 patients with tumors 2-3 cm in size. The main goal is to see if the smaller surgery provides similar long-term survival while potentially better preserving patients' lung function.
