Study tests if less invasive lung surgery works as well for certain cancers

NCT ID NCT07169903

Summary

This study aims to find out if a surgery that removes a smaller piece of the lung (segmentectomy) is as good as the standard surgery that removes a larger lobe (lobectomy) for people with a specific type of early-stage lung cancer. Researchers will enroll 587 patients and randomly assign them to one of the two surgeries. The main goal is to see if survival rates are similar over 5 years, while also checking if the smaller surgery helps patients keep more of their lung function.
