Needle swap or not? new study aims to simplify lung cancer staging

NCT ID NCT07418450

First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doctors need to change the needle between taking samples from different lymph nodes during a lung cancer staging procedure. 30 people with suspected or confirmed lung cancer will have two rounds of sampling: one with a new needle for each node, and one without. The goal is to see if skipping the needle change gives the same results, which could make the procedure faster and easier.
