First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study will test whether a low-dose CT scan can help find lung cancer early and save lives in high-risk smokers. Researchers will enroll 15,000 current or former heavy smokers aged 50-79 in Hong Kong. Half will get the scan, and half will not, and the team will track who dies from lung cancer over up to 10 years.
