Smart scan aims to shield lungs during cancer radiation

Summary
This study tests a new way to plan radiation therapy for advanced lung cancer. Doctors will use a special scan (SPECT/CT) to see which parts of the lung work best, then aim radiation away from those areas to reduce side effects like coughing and shortness of breath. About 90 people with lung cancer who need radiation will take part.
