New radiation technique aims to protect healthy lungs during cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT04676828
Summary
This study is testing whether a new radiation planning method can reduce lung damage for people with advanced lung cancer. The method uses a special scan to map healthy, functioning lung tissue so doctors can avoid directing radiation at those areas while still targeting the tumor. Researchers will compare this new approach to standard radiation treatment to see if it causes fewer breathing problems and side effects.
