Blood test may cut unnecessary lung scans in High-Risk groups

NCT ID NCT07358715

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a blood test can be used as a first step to screen for lung cancer in people at high risk. If the blood test is negative, those individuals might not need a CT scan, reducing radiation exposure and healthcare costs. The study involves 140 participants, including smokers and never-smokers with a family history of lung cancer.
