Scientists search lung tumors for clues to beat treatment resistance

NCT ID NCT01580982

Summary

This study aims to understand why lung cancers stop responding to targeted drug therapies. Researchers will analyze tumor tissue samples from 500 adults with lung or other chest cancers, both before treatment and when the cancer starts growing again. The goal is to identify genetic changes in the tumor that cause drug resistance, which may help doctors choose better subsequent treatments for patients.
