New study: could a simple blood test reveal hidden heart risks?
NCT ID NCT07184034
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This observational study will enroll 150 adults aged 40-70 at intermediate heart risk to see if higher levels of lipoprotein(a) in the blood are linked to more calcium in the coronary arteries, as measured by a CT scan. Participants will provide a blood sample and undergo a non-contrast CT scan. The goal is to understand if Lp(a) can help identify early, silent heart disease beyond standard risk factors.
