Could less radiation be better for HPV throat cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT06554158

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study is for people with HPV-positive throat cancer who have had surgery to remove the tumor. Researchers want to see if giving a lower dose of radiation only to the neck (not the original tumor site) works just as well as standard radiation to prevent the cancer from coming back. About 30 participants will receive this de-escalated treatment and be followed for two years to check cancer control and quality of life.
