Could less radiation be just as effective for some throat cancers?

NCT ID NCT06554158

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with HPV-positive throat cancer who had surgery can safely receive a lower radiation dose to a smaller area (just the neck, not the original tumor site). The goal is to keep the cancer from coming back while reducing side effects. About 30 adults with early-stage disease and minimal smoking history will take part.
