This early-phase study tested whether low doses of a protein called interleukin-2 (IL-2) could increase regulatory T cells—immune cells that help the body accept a pregnancy—in 18 women who had at least five unexplained early miscarriages. The goal was to see if this approach could prevent the immune system from rejecting the fetus. The study measured changes in blood Treg levels but did not directly assess pregnancy outcomes, so more research is needed to know if it truly reduces miscarriage risk.
