Summary

This study tested a new, low-cost way to make platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a patient's own blood for treating knee osteoarthritis. Twenty adults with mild to moderate knee arthritis received two injections of this low-cost PRP. Researchers checked if the PRP had enough platelets and monitored pain, function, and safety for up to 12 months.
