Summary

Researchers are testing whether a 12-week online rehabilitation program helps people with long COVID manage their own health, fatigue, and quality of life. The program combines personalized exercise with education sessions and a mobile app for daily tracking. Participants attend weekly online sessions and use the app to log symptoms and progress. The trial compares this program with usual care to see if it improves self-management and energy levels.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
A 12-week personalized telerehabilitation program combining guided exercise and self-management education, delivered online and through a mobile app
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a home-based way for people with long COVID to build confidence in managing their symptoms and improve daily energy and quality of life.
What could go wrong
The trial is small and early-stage, so results may not hold for everyone with long COVID. Exercise can also trigger symptom flare-ups in people with post-exertional malaise, and the program requires a smartphone and reliable internet access.
