Liver cirrhosis study seeks clues in cholesterol byproduct

Summary
This study looks at levels of a substance called 4beta-hydroxycholesterol in the blood of people with liver cirrhosis. Researchers will compare these levels to those in people with pneumonia, Crohn's disease, or ulcerative colitis. The goal is to understand how cirrhosis and its medications affect this substance. About 120 participants are being recruited from Oulu University Hospital.
