Can a simple supplement boost recovery from advanced liver disease?

NCT ID NCT07281846

Summary

This study is for people with advanced liver scarring (cirrhosis) who have also lost significant muscle mass, a condition called sarcopenia. Researchers want to see if adding a specific nutritional supplement (branched-chain amino acids, or BCAAs) to a standard medical procedure (called TIPS) helps patients regain muscle and reduces serious complications. They will compare outcomes between patients who get the supplement and those who do not.
