First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at two different ways to screen for liver cancer in people with liver cirrhosis: ultrasound every 6 months versus MRI once a year. Researchers wanted to see which method finds cancer more accurately. A total of 211 adults over age 40 with cirrhosis took part. The goal was to improve how often liver cancer is caught early in this high-risk group.
