Summary
This study looked at whether lithium, a medication already used for mood disorders, could delay or prevent Alzheimer's disease in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Researchers measured memory, thinking skills, and brain changes in 83 participants over time. The goal was to see if lithium has anti-dementia properties that could be used broadly to protect the aging brain.
