First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether the drug liraglutide, already approved for adults, can help children aged 6 to 12 with obesity lose weight. About 78 children will receive either liraglutide or a placebo injection daily for 56 weeks, along with counseling on diet and exercise. Researchers will measure changes in body mass index (BMI) and monitor for side effects.
