Could your own blood help heal gum disease? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07293962
First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gel made from a patient's own blood can improve gum healing after standard deep cleaning for moderate to severe gum disease (periodontitis). About 14 adults with deep gum pockets will receive the blood gel in half of their mouth and a saltwater rinse in the other half, then be followed for 3 months. The goal is to see if the blood product reduces pocket depth and bleeding better than cleaning alone.
