Blood test could spot returning HPV cancers early
NCT ID NCT05774561
Summary
This study aims to see if simple 'liquid biopsies'—like blood tests, mouth rinses, and swabs—can help doctors monitor treatment and catch the early return of cancers caused by HPV (human papillomavirus). It will enroll 480 people with cervical or throat cancer or pre-cancer. Researchers will track HPV genetic material in these samples over four years to try to predict which patients are at risk of their cancer coming back.
