Liposuction's hidden danger: does treating more skin surface cause more harm than just removing fat?
NCT ID NCT04656054
Summary
This study aimed to understand the safety of large-volume liposuction by comparing two factors: the total amount of fluid removed and the total skin surface area treated. Researchers monitored 20 female patients undergoing the procedure to see if operating on a larger body area, even when removing the same volume, causes greater changes in blood health and electrolyte balance. The goal was to gather data to help make this cosmetic surgery safer.
