Liposuction's hidden danger: does treating more skin area pose greater risk than removing more fat?

NCT ID NCT04656054

Summary

This study aimed to understand if the size of the body area treated during large-volume liposuction affects patient safety more than the total amount of fat removed. Researchers monitored 20 female patients undergoing the procedure, checking their blood counts, clotting ability, and salt balances before, during, and after surgery. The goal was to gather data to help surgeons make the procedure safer by understanding which factors—total volume or treated surface area—pose a greater risk of complications.
