Summary
This study tests whether adding the antibiotic linezolid to standard treatment improves outcomes for people with Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections. About 606 hospitalized adults will receive either linezolid or a placebo for five days. The goal is to see if the combination reduces complications, helps patients return to normal function, and improves survival.
