Shining a light on foot ulcer healing
NCT ID NCT06416462
Summary
This study tested whether a special light treatment, called antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT), could help diabetic foot ulcers heal better. Researchers enrolled 94 patients with these chronic sores and compared standard wound care plus the light therapy against standard care plus a fake light treatment. The main goal was to see if the light therapy improved wound quality and the healing process over 10 treatment sessions.
