First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 10% lidocaine spray reduces pain when inserting an IV catheter. Forty women each received four IV insertions—two with the spray and two without—on different arm locations. They rated their pain on a 0-10 scale. The goal was to see if the spray made the procedure less painful.
