Pacemaker leads may leak: new study tracks tricuspid valve trouble

NCT ID NCT07342036

First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study watches 200 people getting a pacemaker or defibrillator to see how often the lead causes or worsens leakage in the tricuspid valve. Participants get heart ultrasounds before and after the procedure, plus follow-ups at 6 and 12 months. The goal is to better understand this side effect, not to test a new treatment.
