Laser boosts numbing gel for Pain-Free dental visits?

NCT ID NCT07169032

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tested if using a special laser before applying numbing gel (lidocaine) can reduce pain during dental procedures. Twenty adults were split into three groups: laser plus numbing gel, fake laser plus numbing gel, and fake laser plus Vaseline. Researchers measured pain levels and heart rate when a tiny needle touched the gums. The goal was to see if the laser helps the numbing gel work better and longer.
