First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-invasive imaging method called photoacoustic tomography (PAT) to see if it can help diagnose chronic rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers will scan the joints of 113 adults who have had arthritis for over 2 years, as well as healthy volunteers. The goal is to find out if PAT can accurately detect signs of arthritis, which could lead to faster and easier diagnosis in the future.
