First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This small early study tested a new way to help people with scleroderma who have trouble opening their mouth (microstomia). Doctors used a laser to deliver a natural enzyme called hyaluronidase into the skin around the mouth. The goal was to loosen tight tissue, making it easier to eat, speak, and clean teeth. Three adults each received three laser sessions, with follow-up three months later to check results.
