New study seeks to predict surgical risks in throat cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07287865
First seen Dec 26, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at 400 people who had surgery for throat cancer to find out why some develop a leak called a fistula after the operation. Researchers want to see if using a tissue flap during surgery or having low muscle mass (sarcopenia) affects the risk. The goal is to better predict and prevent these complications.
