Summary

This study aims to understand why some people with lactose intolerance experience more severe symptoms. Researchers will measure markers of gut barrier function and inflammation in 200 adults with lactose intolerance and IBS symptoms. The goal is to learn whether gut inflammation or a 'leaky gut' contributes to symptom severity and affects quality of life.
