Scientists probe hidden gut inflammation in lactose intolerance
NCT ID NCT07424898
Summary
This study aims to better understand why some people with lactose intolerance experience severe symptoms. Researchers will measure markers of gut barrier health and inflammation in stool samples from 200 adults with IBS and suspected lactose intolerance. The goal is to see if these internal gut changes, beyond just the inability to digest lactose, contribute to how bad the symptoms feel and affect quality of life.
