Premature baby weight gain study tests Lactase-Fortified milk
NCT ID NCT07150884
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding lactase drops to milk helps premature babies (born 28-34 weeks) gain weight better. Many preemies lack enough lactase to digest lactose, which may slow growth. The trial will compare weight gain in 100 newborns who get lactase-fortified milk versus regular milk, while keeping calorie intake the same.
