Could One-Time TB pill delivery stop the spread?
NCT ID NCT07628140
First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a simpler way to give TB preventive therapy to household contacts of TB patients and people living with HIV. Instead of monthly clinic visits, some participants get the full course of pills at once in their community. Researchers want to see if this approach helps more people finish their treatment and reduces TB transmission.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

TB preventive therapy (TPT)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that giving TB preventive therapy all at once in the community is a better way to help people finish treatment and reduce TB transmission.
What could go wrong
This trial is not yet recruiting and compares two delivery methods, not a new drug. Results may not apply to other settings or populations.
