Scientists probe why scratches spark skin disease flares
NCT ID NCT06021405
Summary
This study aims to understand why minor skin irritation, like from tight clothing, can trigger psoriasis or lichen planus in some people. Researchers will gently irritate a small area of skin on participants and take tiny skin samples over two weeks to analyze the immune response. The goal is to learn more about this 'Koebner phenomenon' to inform future treatments, but this study itself does not test any new therapies.
