Summary
This study looked at whether placing a drain after knee replacement surgery affects how much hemoglobin drops and whether patients need a blood transfusion. 102 adults having knee replacement were randomly assigned to get a drain or not. Researchers measured hemoglobin before surgery and at 24 and 48 hours after to compare the two groups.
