Small study probes link between knee motion and pain in common knee condition
NCT ID NCT07287267
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Sep 03, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at how bending the knee during exercises like squats affects pain in people with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Fifteen participants will do three types of squats with increasing range of motion and rate their pain. The goal is to understand the relationship between knee angle and pain to improve rehab guidance.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could help design safer, less painful knee rehab exercises for people with patellofemoral pain syndrome.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small observational study (15 people) that only measures pain during one session. It won't test any treatment or long-term outcomes.
