Wearable sensors reveal hidden movement problems in severe knee arthritis

NCT ID NCT05488093

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study uses special wearable sensors to measure how well people with severe knee osteoarthritis can move their knee before and after getting a total knee replacement. Researchers will track 20 adults over age 60 to find simple movement patterns that could help doctors better understand and treat knee problems. The goal is to develop quick, easy tests that show if treatments like surgery are actually helping patients move better.
