Scientists numb thigh muscle to unlock mystery of knee pain
NCT ID NCT01862731
Summary
This study aimed to understand how muscles around the knee cap affect movement and pain in people with chronic knee pain. Researchers used MRI scans to watch the knee move in 35 adults, both with and without pain. On a second visit, they temporarily numbed a specific thigh muscle with an injection to see how losing its force changed the knee cap's motion.
