Blood test could end painful biopsies for rare mast cell disease
NCT ID NCT07562542
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a highly sensitive blood test can accurately diagnose systemic mastocytosis, a rare disease where too many mast cells build up in the body. Currently, diagnosis requires an invasive bone marrow biopsy. Researchers will compare the blood test results to biopsy results in 50 adults to see if the blood test is reliable enough to use instead.
