First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether kinesiology tape (a special elastic tape placed on the skin) can reduce pain, improve posture, balance, and breathing in people with ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that mainly affects the spine. 63 adults took part and were split into two groups: one did routine home exercises, and the other did the same exercises plus had kinesiology tape applied. The researchers measured pain, spinal flexibility, balance, and lung function to compare the two approaches.
