Could a daily drink shrink dangerous liver fat in teens?
NCT ID NCT07097506
Summary
This study is testing whether a daily drink containing ketone esters can reduce liver fat and improve blood sugar control in adolescents with obesity and fatty liver disease (MASLD). Forty participants, aged 18-25, will be randomly assigned to drink either the ketone supplement or a placebo daily for six weeks. Researchers will use MRI scans and blood sugar tests to see if the ketone drink helps improve liver health and metabolism.
