First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests whether a ketogenic (low-carb, high-fat) diet can reduce symptoms in people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Fifty adults will be randomly assigned to either the ketogenic diet or a control diet for several weeks. Researchers will measure changes in psychiatric symptoms using a standard rating scale. The goal is to see if this dietary approach offers a new way to ease symptoms that medications don't fully control.
