First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a ketogenic diet (high fat, low carb) can improve brain energy and reduce symptoms like psychosis, depression, and mania in people recently diagnosed with bipolar I or schizoaffective disorder. Fifty adults aged 18-45 will follow the diet for 12 weeks alongside their usual care. The goal is to see if changing what you eat can help manage the condition.
