First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a ketogenic diet—a high-fat, low-carb diet that makes the body produce ketones—is practical and helpful for people with early Alzheimer's disease. The diet may provide an alternative fuel for brain cells and reduce inflammation. Researchers will follow 17 participants for one year, checking brain metabolism with PET scans and tracking thinking skills, quality of life, and safety.
