Could a High-Fat diet help early Alzheimer's? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT04701957
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people with early-stage Alzheimer's can safely follow a ketogenic diet for a full year. The diet shifts the body to burn fat for energy, producing ketones that may fuel the brain when glucose use declines. Researchers will measure brain metabolism, thinking skills, and quality of life in 17 participants, comparing the diet to a control diet.
